I always enjoy your comments Keith. You actually contribute to the subject whenever you comment and I appreciate that.
I think you're right about our instincts. I wonder what would happen if we are more in tune with our instincts.
Only one way to find out! :-) I'll keep that as one of my future experiments.
And it makes sense for it to be a survival instinct. I'll check out the link you gave.

I know exactly what you mean, Ricky.

I believe it all comes down to our primitive instincts which 'civilisation' has tried to remove - and failed. Possibly it is a survival instinct. It may be related to the ability animals and young children have to instinctively like or dislike people. This is something I have experienced myself (does that make me a child or an animal?).

There is so much of our minds we know nothing about - maybe it's time we did.

By the way, I understand the ability to detect someone staring is one particularly acute in women. It is one of the distinct differences between the sexes. I guess it comes under the heading of 'feminine intuition' but it is no ruddy good when you stare at a pretty girl, hoping she won't see you, and she turns around and looks you straight in the eyes. Doh! In my experience this happens 100% of the time. I'm amazed I haven't been arrested yet.

Check out Australian psychologist Allan Pease who is a bit of an authority on this subject (www.peaseinternational.com).
