Sleeping on the floor has been simply great for me! If you do try to sleep on the floor at home, first few times, you might feel a little weird or even feel a little pain because your body's used to sleeping on the mattress. But afterwards there's nothing like it! :-)

A fascinating post, Ricky.

I find I sleep well when on the floor but have restricted it to camping and visiting friends (neither of those are very often!). Maybe I should try it more at home too!

You've got to be joking! Jerk? Oh no, I think it is quite inspiring how you're able to motivate yourself to keep going despite feeling sick.
You're so right. Human body is amazing at adapting to different circumstances and environments.
When I was younger I would work at whatever job I could get and my body would adapt accordingly. Sometimes I would be working nights, and sometimes up to 16 hours a day, sometimes fixing cars in a garage, sometimes painting exterior of a building sitting on top of a truck at mid afternoon in extreme heat!
hmm.. can't believe the kind of jobs I've done. :-)
But every single time, after a little while my body would adapt to it and I would be fine.
Most people I know have a protein shake after workouts. I think you're the only one having a martini after a workout! :-)
Maybe that's the secret to not getting sick?

Thanks Ricky. Glad you agree. I was half expecting somebody to say "what a jerk!" LOL Yeah, your body definitely responds to what you throw at it. It wants to be the best at what YOU do. You lift weights, you body learns it must get better at that. Work weird hours, you will adjust. You stick to your normal schedule when sick, your body will adjust. Some goes for bad things. Then like you said, you get to spend your paid-time-off doing something fun.

Funnily enough, I have a sore throat today. I think from sleeping with the fan on and window open. Still feel great. Going to the gym in 30 minutes. Going to have a martini when I get home. So yeah, people, control your body with your mind. Train it.

That's awesome Tyler! It seems like it's your positive mental attitude along with your regular work outs that might be responsible for keeping you healthy.
Your approach of telling your body that you're not going to get sick no matter what definitely works. Assuming it's not a serious/critical illness etc of course.
When I was going to India I had a severe fever but I couldn't change my flight because of penalty + I had limited number of holidays, so that's what I ended up doing. I told myself that it was too bad but nothing I could do and no matter what I was going to get on that plane. When I landed in India I was still sick but I kept on going with my plan as I had no time to waste and slowly my fever vanished and I totally forgot there was something wrong with me.
Here we have the luxury of taking a day off whenever we get sick, so if it was under different circumstances I might have taken a few days off of work and just relaxed.
